I went to the park and to the Zoo, and I took loads of the lamest pictures.

As I was reading in the park, or walking about in the park, in the zoo, or in town, I was loittered by at least 3 beggars (on old man, an old woman, and a young student), as well as stopped by very young male prostitute who were suprised of my lack of interest for casual conversation. Next time I will just say I only speak French…
All that because of the camera.

It is a pity but the most exciting part of the Zoo is the Cobra chasing and eating a mouse… and of course the red ants were no longer swarming.

I had more of a jet-lag than I though: I woke up at 7 for breakfast at the Vegeterian restaurant, then went back to bed till 2pm when V. called me to take news.

So I spedn the afternoon loosingmyself in the city, making my way back to MG Road, and shopping around fro Internet (cheap and slow). food and wedding shirts ot go with my mundu (or dhoti).

And it is raining heavily again tonight, so I am in the hotel for the evening with the wi-fi and my food. Tomorrow I will start the day earlier so I can do more, maybe stray away a bit further.

After a night rest, I am on my way to Trivandum (Thrivananthapuram in full).
I am welcomed by the groom’s father.

In case I did not mention it before I am here for V.’s wedding to P.
It is starting to rain and by the time I am in the hotel room it is simply pooring thundery rain.

I need a full night sleep, even though it is only the end of the afternoon.

After a 13-hour flight from Dublin, via London, I am lucky.

At 2am (Ireland is still the day before, the 8th) I am offered a night in the Suvi Transit Hotel, which will allow me to wait for the flight the next day at 13:15.
Rs800 gives you accommodation -bathroom, bed and TV- plus return trip from/to airport in the morning.

It reminds me of the first day we arrived at La Réunion as kids, or the last night in Bangalore in 2004.
People are so welcoming, and honest: there is no attempt to swindle me, and the price is really reasonable..

Not much to see, as I am not touristy at heart.

Loved the sea side, but no real beach unless you take the train out.

A lot of walking and a cold to get rid of before Cairo.

Nothing to write home about.

Breakfast is mediocre.

Service is outstanding… but I just could not try and eat the half-melted chocolate you get every evening when the come to “open/break your bed”.

The daily water bottle is nice to have.

Very close from town but far from the sea.
